Busy Osaka

train to Hamasaka

Cherry blossom on the way to Hamasaka

Hamasaka

In Hamasaka I met two others going to Antaiji for the first time: Konrad and Callum. Konrad is from Germany and Callum from Melbourne. I have met Callum before at the Melbourne Zen Centre, but he recognised me before I recognised him.
It was beautiful weather for our walk up the mountain. These steps are right at the top of the mountain and lead to Antaiji.

When we arrived we sat in the informal dining room and recorded our names in a book before we were shown to our rooms and introduced to the procedures of the monastery. This is a view into the kitchen from the dining room.

    1. Hi Jacqui, I've only just noticed that this is the place to send replies. I am here until June 30th. I hope you and the family are well. How is Louie? Chester died about two months ago. End of an era. He was with us from the time Miles was 7 or 8 so he had a good long life.
